Personal Care and Hygiene

Our Certified Nursing Assistants anticipate the needs of our participants. They provide care in a subtle discreet fashion and are trained to report changes or concerns to the Center Nurse.

Enhanced Bathing:

  • Is designed for participants with dementia or physical impairments. Our newly renovated state-of -the- art bathroom is completely wheelchair accessible. The roll in shower is equipped with wand showering equipment. Staff assists with personal hygiene and ease the fears of participants with dementia. Hairdresser services can be purchased.

Nutritional Services

Our Registered Nutritionist consultant works directly with our staff, caterer 
and participants to establish menus that are tasty and meet the nutritional requirements of the Department of Aging, as well as the needs of our individual participants.

Boxed Dinner

Therapeutic and Social Activities

The activities at ElderWatch Plus are designed to engage each participant based on their interests. Activities are geared for personal success and to maintain each participants highest cognitive and physical level.

Exercise and Gross Motor Activities: Seated exercise with a bit of dancing starts the day. Other activities include: Baseball, Bowling, Volleyball, Noodle Ball, and our highly competitive Ring Toss, Horseshoes and Bocce tournaments.

Creative Movement and Music: Are led by our Creative Arts Therapists who incorporate music and dance of every style and generation. Activities include, Sing Alongs, Karaoke, Hymns and Choir, Wheel Chair Dancing, Rhythm Instruments and Movement, Parachute, Stretchbands and Scarf Exercises just to name a few.

Games, Hobbies, and Clubs: Afternoons typically sport a men's card game and an array of small groups involved in Hobbies and Clubs. We have flower ladies, crafters cove, art appreciation, the bakers, and sportaholics, story and book club and of course the card sharks. Activities are designed to create pride and ownership for a job well done.

Discussions: Our discussions are based around the world will live in from "First Dates" and "Recipes" to politics and sports of the day. Regardless memory losses everyone is encouraged and assisted to join in. Discussion groups are also an important way to give our participants the opportunity to vent their feeling and talk things out with peers.

"The Plus Club" is designed for those with memory loss or early dementia. In addition to our typical day, Club participants join in "brain challenge" activities through games, and friendly competition. The professional staff leads targeted discussions that promote sharing of thoughts, frustrations and feelings. Brian Challenges include activities such as Hidden Pictures, Word in a Word, Wii, Tribold, Poetry, Finish the Phrase and a computerized "Brain Game".

"Home Suite Home" is complete with mini kitchen, workbench, den and bedroom. Home Suite Home is designed for participants with advanced dementia. Here participants are safe to do familiar tasks with support from the staff. Our Staff is well trained to understand the "reality" of each person in their care and encourage Reminiscing Activities to capture good memories.
